25/10/2023

Day 3 : I was in prep A in the Australian section. This morning, students had a playtime so they chose what they wanted to do. Some of them were writing sentences, ABC's or additions on a whiteboard and others were reading books or playting in the kitchen. Then, they did some literacy of the sound "tch". One group of students was writing some words with the sound "tch", another group was writing a story of 3 sentences using words with the sound "tch" and other were reading little story with the same sound.

After that,  in numeracy and they got a challenge. They had to count how many feet were in the room right now and to explain their strategy. It was really interesting.

In the afternoon, after lunch it was reading time (quart d'heure lecture) sitting on their table.

Then, I did a lesson about discovering New Caledonia, the kanak people, their art and crafts and some specific animals : Kagu, Red Flying Fox, Green Turtle and Gecko. They watched a short video showing beautiful landscapes of New Caledonia. Then, they drew some graphic (straift lines, horizontal, diagonal) to decorate one animal. At the end of the lesson, we discovered the nursery rhyme of the Red Flying Fox in French. It was a real pleasure to teach this afertnoon.
